How We Do It

East Mountain is a community. We start with community because we believe that what we do ought to flow out of who we are. We are a fellowship of Christians who choose to live according to a common rule, participate in a common rhythm, and pursue intentional relationships.

Our rule is to:
abide in Christ   ||   love our neighbour   ||  partner for the Kingdom   ||   disciple leaders

Our rhythm is to meet together twice each week to:
organise our work together   ||   connect by sharing a meal, conversation, worship, and prayer

Our relationships are intentional:
because we choose to organise our lives around Christ and the work and life of the East Mountain Community.

We accomplish our mission to develop Christian leaders for global missional service by forming authentic relationships with leaders already engaged in excellent Kingdom work in churches, non-profit organisations, and schools. Through conversations and friendships we work to discover our partner's leadership development needs. In short, we ask our partners: "How can we help?".

Discipling leaders

The call to be a Christian is to be a disciple who makes disciples. At East Mountain, our focus is on discipling those entrusted with leader gifts. We believe that discipleship must be holistic in nature - helping people grow spiritually, biblically and practically. This highly relational process occurs most effectively within the context of a biblical community where we live out the Gospel in daily life and help others to do the same.
