Cody & Megan Buchan   Cody and Megan moved to South Africa three years ago from Richmond, Virginia. Cody currently serves on the residency team and Megan on the administration and communications team. They recently welcomed their first child, Quinn, into the family in May of 2019. Prior to East Mountain, Cody worked at Hope Church as the youth and then missions director and Megan in public relations.   Support the Buchans

Chelsea Clay   Chelsea has a bachelor’s in social work from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and a master’s in social work from The Ohio State University. She moved to South Africa in 2018 and is passionate about social justice. She co-leads a women’s home in Salt River.   Support Chelsea

As former resident advisor, Servaas remains involved in community life while working full-time as a marketer in a Stellenbosch-based tech company. Denver is passionate about being a well-rounded leader, recognizing the psychological components of our stories and how the Gospel shines through it. Denver is living in Salt River where he serves with the Eden team in Salt River and Jubilee Church.

Lindsay Shifflett   Lindsay came to EM South Africa in 2018 as a resident with the goal of receiving long-term exposure and experience in overseas ministry. She graduated from Biola University with a Bachelors in Intercultural Studies and a minor in Biblical Theology, and has engaged with discipleship, relief work, and refugee ministry in places like Mexico, Scotland, Macedonia, and Nepal. She is currently working on a Masters in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University while serving on the East Mountain communication team.   Support Lindsay

Bouwer & Carlien Van Niekerk   Bouwer, Carlien and their children: Bouwer Jr and Carolina,has been part of the East Mountain family since 2013. Bouwer is one of the founding directors of East Mountain South Africa and works in the financial sector. Carlien does East Mountain’s bookkeeping.
